■ CRESWELL went 3-0 this week to extend its winning streak to 14 games. On Tuesday, the Bulldogs defeated rival Pleasant Hill for the third time this year, 5-3. The game was tied 3-3 heading into the 7th inning when Kayden Roberts hit a two-run double to give his team a two-run lead. The Bulldogs took the lead for the first time in the 6th inning or later in two out of three wins over the Billies. On Friday, the Bulldogs beat La Pine twice thanks to two big offensive games. Game One finished 15-1 in five innings. Jaxon Pelham threw five innings, allowing two hits and striking out 10; he also drove in two runs and scored two himself. The Bulldogs won Game Two 14-6. Freshman Carson Clark had a pinch-hit, 2-RBI single and his brother Colden was 3-for-5, with 2 RBI and three runs scored.
■ THURSTON took two games from Springfield last week. Tuesday’s matchup finished 24-2 in five innings, with the Colts drawing 12 walks and being hit-by-pitch five times. Parker Edwards hit a home run and had 3 RBI and Kiernan Stout was 2-for-3, with 4 RBI. Springfield was hitless, but still mustered two runs, scored by Trevin Moore and Matthew Merrifield. Thurston won Friday’s matchup 17-0, again in five innings, and allowed only one hit. Carlin Crutcher hit a grand slam for the Colts and Brody Corgain pitched four innings, striking out seven and throwing only 47 pitches. Kameron Krueg had the lone Millers hit.
■ COTTAGE GROVE was swept by Junction City last week. In Game One, on Tuesday, the Tigers won 12-0. Games Two and Three, both on Friday, finished 14-0 and 19-3. Sophomore catcher Kellan Hurst was 1-for-2, with an RBI and a run scored in Game Three.
■ PLEASANT HILL lost to rival Creswell 5-3 on Tuesday. The Billies led 3-2 after four innings, but allowed three runs in the final three frames. Wyatt Krauss led the Billies, going 3-for-4, with a double, a walk, and 2 RBI. On Friday, the Billies dominated Harrisburg in a doubleheader, winning by a combined score of 21-2. Krauss and Wyatt Blake were excellent as the two starters, each allowing only one run and striking out six. Freshman Joel VanOrdstrand reached in all four plate appearances, and had a double, 3 RBI and three runs scored in game one. His older brother Gabe was 2-for-3, with a double, a triple, and 3 RBI in game two.
