CRESWELL (19-4, 12-0, #4)
■ Leading off: The Bulldogs bring their 14-game winning streak into the final week of the regular season. The win streak is the longest for the Bulldogs since at least 1998, and is more wins by itself than the program has had in 27 of the past 28 seasons, with last year the lone exception. This week, the Bulldogs play No. 20 Elmira (13-8, 6-5) in an away doubleheader on Friday. The Bulldogs defeated the Falcons 10-0 when the two matched up earlier this season. Landon Vaughn threw a five-inning shutout in that one, allowing only five baserunners and needing only 50 pitches.
THURSTON (13-10, 8-7, #10)
■ Leading off: This week, The Colts play No. 15 Ashland (10-9, 7-5) in the first matchup of a three-game series with major playoff implications. Thurston is a game behind third place in the Midwestern League Crater, and 1.5 games back from second-place Eagle Point. Both teams have fewer games played than the Colts, so how this week’s series shakes out for the Comets and Eagles will go a long way toward determining how badly the Colts need a sweep against the Grizzlies.
SPRINGFIELD (0-20, 0-14, #32)
■ Leading off: The Millers host No. 2 North Eugene (16-5, 10-3) on Friday and then travel to No. 3 Crater (16-6, 8-5) on Tuesday. Last season, both teams swept the Millers.
COTTAGE GROVE (4-19, 1-8, #29)
■ Leading off: The Lions have one league game this week, home against No. 11 North Bend (9-10, 3-3) on Monday. Last season, the Bulldogs swept the Lions. The matchup with the Bulldogs is the first of a three-game series to finish out the season.
PLEASANT HILL (6-13, 3-9, #23)
■ Leading off: Fresh off their first league series win, the Billies have four games this week. A league home doubleheader against No. 6 Sisters (14-6, 9-2) is on Friday, the Billies’ final two league games of the season. Earlier this season, the Outlaws defeated the Billies 6-1. On Monday and Tuesday, the Billies have two non-league matchups, against No. 19 Siuslaw/Mapleton (12-10, 6-6) and No. 12 in Class 2A/1A Toledo (13-6, 7-1).
