The Willamette Valley Babe Ruth 8-under All Stars finished its first tournament in Florence earlier this year, finishing in second place after a 4-3 loss to the Florence Littlefoots. (The photo above is from that event.)
The Willamette Valley team finished the season with a 7-6 record. The mark included a 7-2 record in its first two machine-pitch tournaments, and 0-4 in the last kid-pitch tournament. That event was the team’s first exposure to “kid pitch” baseball.
The Willamette Valley team finished second, third, and fifth in our three tournaments.
The team is comprised of 7= and 8-year-olds, with seven players from Thurston, four from Springfield, one from Sheldon, one from and Willamette. There are three coaches from Thurston and one from Sheldon.
