PREVIEWS

■ THURSTON is one of 42 teams competing in the Grants Pass Rotary Invitational. The usual Colts top athletes in Brooklyn Anderson, Addison Nelson, and Carson Buergey will be ones to look out for, but Kelsie Raven is also coming off a performance in which she won the long jump, high jump, and 100m hurdles at the Marist Track Classic.

■ CRESWELL will compete at the Junction City Invitational on Saturday, and then its second 3A-SD1 League meet on Saturday, along with PLEASANT HILL. Jordyn Lee and Kylie Leonard of Creswell are athletes to look out for in the medium distance races, while Soleis Jones of Pleasant Hill may give them some stiff competition in those same events.

■ COTTAGE GROVE will compete in the Stayton Invitational on Saturday. Carissalynn Height and Makya Alsup are top girls throwers for the Lions, while Micah Hanke is a name to watch in the boys distance events.

■ SPRINGFIELD will be at the Dean Nice Invitational on Saturday. Expect Violet Moran and Sailor Hall to be near the top of the girls throwing leaderboards.
