On June 17, the Lane Transit District (LTD) Board of Directors unanimously approved a three-year Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Amalgamated Transit Union 757 (ATU). This contract represents the largest in LTD’s history, encompassing bus operators, customer service representatives, and fleet maintenance staff.
Following a union membership vote on June 12, an impressive 94% voted in favor of ratifying the contract, which enhances wages, updates work rules, and preserves insurance benefits.
Highlights of the agreement include:
- A 10.25% wage increase by 2029
- More flexible scheduling options
- A clearer and expedited dispute resolution process
- Additional compensation for language skills and hard-to-fill shifts
“Our frontline employees are the backbone of LTD’s service to our community,” said Susan Cox, LTD Board President. “This agreement invests in those workers through competitive wages and improved working conditions. It’s a thoughtful, forward-looking contract that will allow LTD to remain competitive and focused on serving the community.”
This new contract will take effect from July 1, 2026, and will run through June 30, 2029.
