Springfield library supporters call for action

SPRINGFIELD – A community group called Save Springfield Library is organizing library supporters to attend upcoming budget committee meetings to ensure decision-makers are aware of public support for the Springfield Public Library.

The call to action serves as an opportunity for folks who care about the library and its services and do not want to see its budget cut to tell City officials, as the budget committee determines the 2027 fiscal-year budget. SSL is encouraging people to attend the meetings in early May to have their voices heard.

The budget committee reviews and recommends Springfield’s annual budget. Committee meetings are scheduled for May 4-6, at 5:30 p.m. at the Justice Center.
