■ THURSTON lost to West Albany 16-1 in five innings on Tuesday. The Colts held a 1-0 lead until the third inning, but allowed two runs in that inning, six in the fourth, and eight in the fifth. Amelia Kidd was 2-for-3, with a triple and 6 RBI for the Bulldogs. On Friday, the Colts lost to Canby 9-4. Rosalina Montes had a two-RBI single in the third inning, and Raygan Litle was 2-for-3, with an RBI.
■ SPRINGFIELD lost to Corvallis 18-0 in five innings on Tuesday. Freshman Avery Travertini led the game off with a single for the Millers, but that was their only hit. The Spartans scored 3+ runs in all four innings they batted. On Thursday, they lost to Mckay 16-1. The Scots scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning, not even needing an extra base hit to put up the crooked number. Madelyn Wilhelm scored the Millers only run in the first inning after getting on base thanks to a hit-by-pitch.
■ COTTAGE GROVE lost to Sweet Home 8-3 on Tuesday. Tori Noffsinger threw a complete game for the Lions, striking out eight batters. On Friday, the Lions took both games of a doubleheader against Creswell to get their first two wins of the season. In the first game, the Lions won 11-8 thanks to a six run 6th inning in which the Bulldogs had four errors. Lions junior Shae Richardson was 2-for-4, with a double, a walk and 2 RBI. Bulldogs senior Elise Thackara was 2-for-3 at the plate, with two doubles and 2 RBI, and threw a complete game in which only four of her 11 runs allowed were earned. In Game Two, the Lions won 14-3 in six innings. Noffsinger threw her second complete game of the day, and fourth of the season. Valerie Aura and Makya Alsup drove things offensively for the Lions, with three hits each and 5 RBI between the two.
■ CRESWELL lost to Glide 18-3. The Bulldogs led 3-2 after two innings, thanks to three walks and three hit-by-pitches. In the third, the Wildcats scored 16 runs to end the game by run rule. Wildcats senior RF Molly Kercher was 3-for-3 with 4 RBI, providing major support from the ninth spot in the batting order.
■ PLEASANT HILL’S games against Corbett and Siuslaw on Tuesday and Wednesday were canceled. On Friday, they lost a doubleheader to North Valley by a combined score of 33-5. Game one finished 14-0, and game two was 19-5. After leading Class 3A in runs per game through their first two weeks, the Billies had their two lowest scoring games of the season.
