Boys basketball recaps

THURSTON defeated Springfield 83-20 on Tuesday. Thurston had six players with seven or more points, led by Lucas LaBounty’s 22. The Colts took a 24-7 first-quarter lead and never looked back. Noah Solo scored 15 of the Millers 20 points.

Thurston defeated Mountain View 72-21 on Thursday. The Colts led 41-8 by halftime. LaBounty and Treyson Hill both had big scoring games, with 27 and 24 points, respectively.

CRESWELL defeated Harrisburg 66-45 on Wednesday. After being down 14-13 after the first quarter, the Bulldogs won each of the next three periods by at least five points. Ace Arnold led the Bulldogs with 16 points, four rebounds and four assists, while Mason Schartz chipped in a 10-point, 11-rebound double-double and shot 4-for-4 from the field.

Creswell defeated Elmira 59-48 on Friday. Luke Bailey led the Bulldogs with a season-high 22 points, and grabbed six rebounds. Schartz also added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists, while Hunter Mustin had arguably his best game of the season with 10 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds, and no turnovers.

PLEASANT HILL defeated La Pine 85-51 on Wednesday. The Billies dominated from start to finish. Three Billies players scored at least 16 points; Doug Green led with 20, followed by Landen Melvin with 17 and Chase Vargas with 16.

Pleasant Hill defeated Sisters 52-51. It was the Billies second time in three games winning a defensive battle in which it scored fewer than 55 points and won by one possession. Melvin led the Billies with 17 points, including a game-winning shot. The Outlaws had a chance to win it themselves, but the Billies defense denied them.

SPRINGFIELD lost to Ashland 83-44 on Friday. A 33-point third quarter for the Grizzlies put the game out of reach. Quillian Tourzan led the Grizzlies with 27 points. Noah Solo led the Millers with 14 points, while Joshua Toensing added 12 on four three pointers.
