Deputies in Creswell responded to reports of an intoxicated driver on Aug. 14 around 5 a.m. They located Russell Darrin Allen, 35, of Eugene, in a pickup at W. Oregon Avenue and N. 10th Street. Signs of impairment were evident, leading to his arrest for DUII and Possession of Methamphetamine.
Later that evening, around 10 p.m., deputies observed a sedan driving erratically in Eugene. They arrested the driver, Barbara Dawn Atchley, 65, of Eugene, for DUII.
On Aug. 15 at about 6 p.m., deputies received a call about a vehicle that had struck a median on I-105. Finding the car on Emerald Parkway, they arrested Ashley Nicole Rigel, 38, of Cottage Grove for DUII.
Approximately 30 minutes later, deputies responded to reports of an intoxicated driver on Prairie Road. They located Michaela Ann Williams, 35, of Junction City, driving poorly. After the investigation, she was arrested for DUII.
At 10:30 p.m. that same night, deputies investigated a disturbance among several intoxicated individuals on Ruby Avenue. One of the involved, Quenterica Sheres Maddox-Franklin, 37, of Eugene, drove away from the scene. Following a traffic stop, she was arrested for DUII.
On Aug. 16 at around 9 p.m., a deputy observed a vehicle driving poorly on Highway 126. After conducting a traffic stop, they arrested Sara Naomi Hixon, 31, of Springfield, for DUII.
The series of arrests culminated early on Aug. 17, around 1 a.m., when deputies stopped a vehicle on I-105 after noticing erratic driving. Jeremiah Gabriel Eagleson, 27, of Springfield, was arrested for DUII after signs of impairment were observed.
Deputies will be using state grant-funded overtime during the next several weeks for DUII enforcement.
Police ask that drivers consider others before drinking or using drugs:
- Plan a ride home in advance.
- Prevent anyone who’s been drinking or using drugs from driving.
- Ensure guests at your party have a sober driver.
- Always wear a seatbelt.
