EUGENE — On March 6, a semi-truckload of milk arrived at FOOD For Lane County and was distributed to the community.
“Having a fresh supply of milk that can be distributed at all of our pantries is huge for us and them,” said Jon Wilkinson, Broadway distribution warehouse manager, noting that the milk has a three-week window. The Welfare and Self-Reliance Program of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints funded the delivery.

“We can all find ways to help those in need. There are tremendous needs in our community right now, and we’re grateful to partner with FOOD For Lane County to bring comfort and hope to neighbors,” said Jeffrey Fuller, president of the LDS Springfield Stake.
FOOD For Lane County partners with 150 agencies and organizations to create access to food across the County. FOOD works with a network of 150+ social service agencies and programs to improve the ability of low-income individuals to maintain an adequate supply of wholesome, nutritious food.
These programs include emergency food boxes, shelters, meal sites, rehabilitation facilities, nutrition education, gleaning and community gardens.
The LDS church has storehouses worldwide and is funded by donations. In 2023, it managed 530 food security projects in 94 countries.
