Basketball and volleyball leagues for the spring recreation season have wrapped up play and determined champions. See league champions below.

Keen, Columbia win Les Schwab Bowl 2024

■ Team Columbia took down Team Willamette 39-26 in the 2024 Les Schwab Bowl – an Oregon high school football all-star game. Springfield standout lineman Sam Keen, a 1st-team all-state member on offense and defense in his senior season for the Millers, took part for the third-straight year. Keen finished with 1 tackle and started on the offensive line for Team Columbia.

Herbert celebrity softball game taking place Saturday

■ Justin Herbert, the former UO quarterback and current Chargers QB, is hosting the Justin Herbert Celebrity Softball Game at Jane Sanders Stadium on Saturday, July 13th. The Celebrity Softball game, put on in conjunction with and to support Kidsports, will feature Chargers and NFL athletes as well as current and past Oregon student-athletes. Gates open for the event at 3:30 p.m., with a home run derby at 4:30 and softball game at 5:30. Tickets can be found at: kidsports.org/herbertsoftballgame/

EV Pickleball fundraiser tickets on sale now

■ Emerald Valley Pickleball Foundation Fundraiser Tickets are now on sale for the Foundation’s fundraising dinner on Aug. 8 at the LCC campus. This will be an evening in support of the Regional Pickleball Complex, including silent and live auction items and other ways to contribute to the fundraising effort.
