Dear Editor:

My thanks to The Chronicle and editor Erin for a great article written with passion and feeling. Of course, I am referring to last weeks’ report on the life and family of Al January.  Again, I emphasize the article written with feeling. It is rare today in journalism to see compassion.

The brief history of his coming into this life, was an insight to the  life of a very quiet man who did many good deeds and did not look for praise. I never knew him to pat himself on the back.

For those who missed the article, it is worth picking up a back copy of the June 6 Chronicle.  Those of us who knew Al pay tribute to him. His memorial will be June 15 at 1 p.m. at the Northwood Christian Church in Springfield.
