Beacons endure 1-3 weekend

Abbott Haffar won his third straight start Friday, pitching a complete game as Bushnell defeated College of Idaho 13-3 in the first game of a doubleheader. Haffar is now 3-1 with a 2.33 ERA.

Jameson Hussey homered in each game Friday for Bushnell. 

During Saturday’s first game, the Beacons’ Kai Keamo pitched 6 innings, yielding no runs while striking out 8, but Idaho rallied for a 3-1 victory. Keamo falls to 1-1 in conference play with a 1.47 ERA. The weekend concluded with an 8-0 win by the College of Idaho.

“Overall, while it was a tough weekend, we continue to learn valuable lessons and continue to grow,” Beacons assistant coach Jamie Womack said. “We are still in good position in conference, currently ranked third as we head into the final stretch. The kids are hungry and working hard fighting to get into the postseason.”

Next up for the Beacons: Doubleheaders Saturday and Sunday at Oregon Tech.
