Eli Andrew Laird, 39, of Cottage Grove, Ore. passed away on Nov. 15, 2020. He was born on Aug. 27, 1981 in Springfield, Ore. to parents Ralph and Pixie (Rogers) Laird.
Eli graduated from Gateway High School in Springfield in 1998.
He loved cooking and started when he was young in various restaurants in Cottage Grove and Springfield. He enjoyed cooking for his friends and family.
Eli was a collector of many things; he was also a collector of knowledge. Jeopardy was one of his favorite programs. He was interested in documentaries, as well as all kinds of philosophy and poetry. He loved his friends and people from all walks of life with no judgments. He had a sweet spirit and kind soul.
Eli will be missed by all who knew him. He touched everyone with his laughter, humor, and smile. Eli is survived by parents Ralph and Pixie Laird of Springfield; sister Candi Laird of Springfield; nephew Gabriel Laird of Springfield; lifetime friend Frank Sexson of Cottage Grove; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A memorial for Eli will be held at a later date.
