COTTAGE GROVE – At about 1:30 p.m. on June 22, the Lane County Sheriff’s Office was notified that Marjorie Ann Gray’s vehicle had been located in the Mosby Creek area, east of Cottage Grove. The vehicle was discovered by individuals working in the vicinity. Gray had been reported missing since June 17.
Deputies from the Lane County Sheriff’s Office and Search and Rescue (SAR) personnel responded to the scene. Gray’s vehicle was found stuck in trees at the end of a gravel logging road, more than ten miles behind a private gate. SAR volunteers deployed ground crews and were assisted by a search canine from the Oregon State Police. Gray was discovered deceased several hundred yards from her vehicle in steep terrain.
This case remains under investigation; however, there is currently no indication of foul play, according to police.
