Lane County Emergency Management will conduct a test of its subscriber-based emergency alert system, Lane Alerts, on Thursday, May 14, at noon. The test will utilize emails, recorded voice calls, and text messages based on each subscriber’s contact preferences.
Subscribers can receive notifications through their preferred methods of contact, including phone calls, text messages, and emails, regarding various emergencies such as evacuations, severe weather, and police activity.
Current Lane Alerts users who have not logged in recently will need to update their accounts to Everbridge Community, the platform behind Lane Alerts. This update will allow users with multiple profiles, such as those who live in one county but work in another, to manage all their profiles from a single login.
More info and register: LaneAlerts.org. Partner agencies include Lane County Emergency Management, LCSO, and Central Lane Communications Center. The system is powered by Oregon’s OR-Alert program and Everbridge.
