3 injured in London Road accident

COTTAGE GROVE – At approximately 5:40 a.m. on May 5, Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a crash in the 27000 block of London Road. Witnesses reported that a vehicle had overturned, ejecting at least one occupant. South Lane Fire and Rescue extricated at least one passenger, and all three occupants, including the driver, were transported to local hospitals.

1 injured in motorcycle accident

SPRINGFIELD – Springfield Police responded to a traffic accident involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on April 28 at approximately 9:03 p.m. near the intersection of South 41st and Main streets. The motorcyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. Territorial crash under investigation

COTTAGE GROVE – LCSO deputies are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred at 8 p.m. on April 28 on Territorial Highway at Old Lorane Rd. A 2005 Ford F550 box truck and a 2001 Honda moped were involved in the incident. The moped rider sustained severe injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The truck driver remained on the scene. LCSO officials said evidence indicates that the truck was traveling north on Territorial Highway when it crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with the moped.

Man identified in hit-and-run

LOWELL – Just before midnight on April 5, LCSO deputies, along with fire personnel, responded to a hit-and-run crash on Jasper Lowell Road at Pengra Road. A motorcycle rider had been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. The rider was transported to a nearby hospital. Deputies identified the make and model of the suspect vehicle from debris left at the scene and began searching for a possible match. On April 26, deputies located a vehicle that matched the description at 39000 block of Jasper Lowell Road in Fall Creek. The vehicle was partially covered by a tarp. Deputies confirmed that this vehicle was involved in the crash. They identified the driver as 60-year-old John Thomas Klinchok of Fall Creek. Klinchok was arrested and booked into the Lane County Jail on multiple charges.
