SPRINGFIELD — Flock Safety has begun removing all automated license plate reader (ALPR) cameras in the City of Springfield, the Springfield Police Department (SPD) announced Wednesday, Jan. 21.
The removal process is underway, and all ALPR units are expected to be taken down by the end of this week. This action follows SPD’s earlier decision to discontinue the use of Flock ALPR technology and to have the cameras fully removed from service.
