Yellow Wood Stove Advisory Continues for Eugene, Springfield, Oakridge, Westfir & UGBs: Due to a strong stagnant air mass that is not expected to clear until Friday (1/23), the yellow wood stove advisory continues for EugeneSpringfieldOakridgeWestfir and their urban growth boundaries (UGB’s). We are hopeful the stagnation will clear this Friday, but until it does we appreciate your help protecting air quality by avoiding any unnecessary burning.  Together we can minimize the rate of negative air quality impacts during stagnation and hopefully avoid the need for a red advisory.     During a Yellow Advisory, please use alternative heating sources instead of burning whenever possible. If you must burn for heat, only use dry, seasoned wood and keep fires small and hot with dampers fully open to limit smoke.

Eugene, Springfield & UGBA Yellow Wood Stove Advisory continues and will remain in effect until further notice.   We’re asking residents to avoid using fireplaces and wood stoves when possible. If you must burn for heat, please only use dry, seasoned wood and keep fires small and hot with dampers fully open.  40% maximum opacity in Eugene Springfield area if burning.
