Cottage Grove lost to Class 4A powerhouse Marist last week 6-0. Goalkeeper Nora Heegard recorded more than 20 saves.
In Class 3A, Creswell went 2-0 last week, with a notable win against Pleasant Hill on Tuesday. In their 1-0 win against the Billies, junior Mila Nguyen scored on a penalty kick. Senior GK Kylie Leonard had 9 saves. In their Thursday win against Santiam Christian 2-0, Nguyen scored both goals.
Pleasant Hill beat Sisters 2-0 on Thursday. In the first half, freshman striker Kristen Gardner scored her first goal of the season off an assist from junior mid-fielder Zoe Dilts. In the second half, senior captain Trinity Smead forced a defensive error that netted her the second goal of the game. Senior captain GK Kenna Caldwell-Copeland had 10 saves to keep the Outlaws off the scoreboard.
In Class 5A, Springfield continues a four-game losing streak. Last week it lost to Woodburn 3-1 and West Albany 7-0. The Millers are 2-5 this season. Thurston dominated last week with a 8-0 shutout against Cascade and West Albany. Against Cascade, Delaney Antone scored three goals, with assists from Carmen Flores on two of them and Taylor Suiter on one. Suiter also netted three goals, assisted twice by Antone and once by Kielyn Ruhl. Ruhl added one goal with an assist from Antone, while Amber Acocella scored one goal, assisted by Flores. Against Lebanon, Emmie Gerdrum scored three goals, with two assists from Antone and one from Suiter. Ruhl contributed one goal with an assist from Suiter. Rosie Montes and Cheryl Whitney each scored one goal, both assisted by Antone.

Kicking off: The Billies hit the road to La Pine and Elmira in Special District 3 competition this week. They’ll look to improve their winning record after a series of ties and losses recently. Look for goalkeeper Kenna Caldwell-Copeland.
#14 THURSTON COLTS (4-2-1)
Kicking off: The Colts invite the Ashland Grizzlies to “The Barn” this Saturday. Last year, the Colts took a 5-1 victory over the Grizzlies. Look for Gabriella Montes and Rosalina Montes.
