Lane County Sheriff’s deputies arrest man for menacing with a pistol

LOWELL — On Aug. 14 at approximately 4 p.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a person chasing individuals with a pistol at a campground on Peninsula Road near Fall Creek Reservoir. 

Responding with an armored rescue vehicle and a drone operator, deputies located the victims who reported fleeing from an unknown male armed with a pistol. Deputies then found two individuals in the area, one of whom matched the suspect’s description. Both were detained without incident, and a pistol was recovered.

After further investigation, deputies arrested Randy Kurtis Bounds, 50, of Ashland, for unlawful use of a weapon and three counts of menacing. Additionally, Amber Nicole Tyrone, 33, of Eugene, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in Eugene Municipal Court for criminal trespass in the second degree. 

Both individuals were lodged at the Lane County Jail.
