SPRINGFIELD – Last week, Urban Jazz Dance Company performed interpretive ASL dance as part of the Springfield Public Library and History Museum’s annual outdoor multicultural Summer Reading Celebration. Deaf instructor Antoine Hunter invited kiddos and crowd members to learn basic sign language motions and taught them how to turn the motion into a dance by incorporating the entire body. ASL hand signs for yes, no, maybe, rain, heal, fire, and excited were taught.
