Sgt. Speldrich: ‘No major calls’ on Fourth of July

CRESWELL – According to Creswell Sergeant Alex Speldrich of the Lane County Sheriff’s Office, the Fourth of July was a relatively mild day for law enforcement. LCSO has four deputies and the sergeant on duty, who handled 44 calls for service over the weekend, “among other issues that didn’t generate calls for service: things like deputies getting flagged down for disputes, disorderly people, parking complaints, etc.” Speldrich said LCSO received five calls for illegal fireworks in Creswell. “There were no major calls of note in Creswell, but several disputes that consumed our resources.”
