Pets rescued from Springfield fire
SPRINGFIELD – Eugene Springfield Fire responded to an RV fire at Eugene Mobile Village in Springfield’s Glenwood neighborhood on July 8 around 1:27 a.m. after reports of fire through the roof of an RV trailer. Engine 4 from 5th and Centennial arrived on scene reporting a working fire. During the primary search of the trailer, a cat and dog were rescued from the fire. The pets received care from paramedics on scene, both survived and are in care with the owner. Two adults and a child have been displaced by the fire; the fire is under investigation.
Suspect arrested after home break-in
VENETA – On July 11 at about 7:45 p.m., LCSO deputies were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress in the 25600-block of East Bolton Road. The caller had returned home with their child, to find a strange man inside their house.
Deputies surrounded the residence and brought additional tools to aid in searching the residence safely. Deputies deployed drones and a SPD K9. The victim did exit the home when prompted to by police, and officers entered the house to find 45-year-old Marcas Allen Yeoman, hiding inside the home. He was arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail and charged with Burglary in the First Degree; Theft in the Third Degree; Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle; and other charges.
