■ CRESWELL and PLEASANT HILL competed at the Three Sisters Twilight Meet in Sisters on Friday. A Billie or Bulldog won every boys track event. For Creswell, Connor Nguyen won the 100m and 200m, Lukas Garzanelli won the 400m, Lincoln Criddle won the 3000m, and Noah Cranson of Creswell won the 110m and 300m hurdles.
Cranson also won the triple jump. For P-Hill, Devon Jones won the 800m, and Kaden Seaton won the 1500m. On the girls side, Jordyn Lee of Creswell won the 400m, Kristen Gardner of P-Hill won the 800m, and Aaliyah Reed of Creswell won the shotput and discus.
PREVIEWS
THURSTON and SPRINGFIELD will compete in the Class 5A Midwestern League Championships on Thursday-Saturday at Springfield’s Silke Field. The girls long jump competition will be fierce, with Addison Nelson, Brooklyn Anderson, and Kelsie Raven of the Colts all trying to knock off last year’s state champion Addison Kleinke. The boys distance events will also be intense, with Carson Buergey of the Colts battling multiple standouts from Crater. For the Millers, Sailor Hall will lead a talented girls throwing team.
COTTAGE GROVE has its Class 4A Sky Em League Championships on Friday and Saturday. Ella Cardwell in the girls distance, Micah Hanke in the boys distance, freshman Carissalyn Height in the girls throwing, and the Lions boys 4x400m team should all do well.
CRESWELL and PLEASANT HILL have Class 3A Special District 1 Championships on Thursday and Friday at Sutherlin High School. The Billies and Bulldogs combined to win 13 of 32 events at the Three Sisters Twilight Meet on Friday, including all eight boys track events, so the two teams are riding high.
