■ THURSTON was swept by No. 2 in Class 5A North Eugene last week. In Game One, the Colts lost 7-3. Grady Saunders threw 5 1/3 innings, with only three of his seven runs allowed being earned. He also went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double. In the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader, the Colts lost 11-3. The Highlanders scored 10 runs in the final two innings. Saunders led the Colts at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Game Three of the series finished 15-13, with 24 of the game’s 28 runs crossing between the third and fifth innings. Brock Johnson led the Colts, going 3-for-5 with a HR, two doubles and 4 RBI.
■ SPRINGFIELD lost twice to Eagle Point, before forfeiting Saturday’s second game of the doubleheader. In Game One, the Millers lost 16-0 and were no-hit. Game Two finished with a 10-0 score. The Eagles scored in every inning, and no-hit the Millers again.
■ COTTAGE GROVE lost 8-1 to Hidden Valley on Tuesday. The Lions committed nine errors, and their only hit came from Taylor Klarr in the bottom of the fifth. The Mustangs jumped on the Lions, with seven runs in the first two innings. Klamath Union defeated the Lions in a Friday doubleheader by scores of 10-0 and 13-6. Nikai Bridgens had the Lions’ only hit in Game One. In Game Two, Nolan Spear was 1-for-2 with a double, two walks and three steals.
■ CRESWELL defeated Harrisburg 17-8 on Tuesday, scoring more runs in one game than it had in its previous six games combined. The Bulldogs had 13 stolen bases. Colden Clark had a massive game for the Bulldogs: 3-for-5, with a double, 6 RBI, and three stolen bases. The Bulldogs had only a 9-8 lead before scoring eight runs in the top of the sixth. On Friday, the Bulldogs defeated rival Pleasant Hill in a doubleheader. The Bulldogs won Game One 4-0, scoring four runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. Jaxon Pelham was masterful, throwing a complete-game shutout, allowing only one hit and striking out 13 Billies. He also contributed a two-out, two-RBI single in the sixth inning. Gabe VanOrdstrand pitched well for the Billies, throwing six innings and allowing just four hits on 100 pitches. The Bulldogs won Game Two 3-2. Cody Winn’s two-RBI triple in the bottom of the second inning was the difference. Landon Vaughn threw five scoreless innings, allowing only two hits. Wylie Blake threw all six innings for the Billies, allowing three runs.
