Rotary Club of Cottage Grove to host leadership seminar

COTTAGE GROVE – The Rotary Club of Cottage Grove will host a professional development seminar led by international author and speaker Michael Angelo Caruso. The event, titled “Effective Leadership – Getting People to Do Stuff,” is scheduled for May 14, 2026, at the Cottage Grove Community Center, 700 E. Gibbs Ave.

Designed for supervisors, managers, team leaders, and upper-level management, the three-hour seminar will cover motivation techniques, strategies for overcoming negativity, and methods for managing challenging personalities in the workplace. Attendees will learn how to be effective role models, the limitations of monetary incentives, and strategies for dealing with underperformers.

Proceeds from the event will support local and international youth literacy and leadership programs, including leadership camps, scholarships, and cultural resource initiatives for rural schools.

Caruso has delivered over 2,000 presentations worldwide, with clients including Bank of America, Verizon Wireless, and the U.S. Navy. He is also the author of several books and audio programs on leadership and presentation skills.
