Dear Editor:
I’m tired of politicians who campaign but don’t fight.
With my own eyes, I’ve seen how Ky Fireside is different.
Ky, running for Oregon House District 7, has shown what real public service looks like. They show up, do the work, and stand with working families when it matters.
Ky helped lead Oregon’s first Starbucks unionization effort. They filed with the National Labor Relations Board, documented illegal labor practices, and fought for fair pay and dignity on the job. That is what real solidarity looks like.
Ky served in the Oregon Public Health Corps, helping quarantining students access medical care, financial aid, and mental health support. That kind of work shows who gets left behind, and why healthcare must be accessible to everyone.
In response to layoffs and budget cuts at the Springfield Library, Ky was there at the City Council meeting, speaking up for a vital community resource.
Ky is already doing the work. They will fight to ensure us working class people have dignity, stability, and a real voice in the places we live and work. This is why Ky Fireside has my support.
