Springfield Chamber to host expanded ‘Essential Skills’ workshop

SPRINGFIELD – The Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its Essential Skills Workshop from April 20-22, at the Holiday Inn Express on Kruse Way. The no-cost program features three half-day sessions, running from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day, and aims to equip entry- to mid-level managers with practical leadership tools.

Key topics will include self-awareness, effective communication, trust-building, coaching, and emotional intelligence. Participants will engage in interactive sessions focused on real-world workplace scenarios and will be required to attend all three.

Registration opens on March 23, and due to high demand, the workshop will accommodate up to 60 participants this year. Following the workshop, a facilitated luncheon will take place on May 7, allowing participants to reflect on their training and network with peers.

The program, part of the Chamber’s WorkReady initiative, is valued at approximately $500 per participant but is offered at no cost thanks to the support of the Chamber’s Impact Investors. Businesses are encouraged to consider making a tax-deductible contribution to the Springfield Chamber Foundation to help sustain this important workforce development opportunity.
