Greenhill cat rescue operation continues; 21 new homes found

MARCOLA – Greenhill Humane Society is working with Lane County Animal Services (LCAS) to rescue cats from a property after their owner passed away. The rescue operations began Feb. 6, near Marcola. They rescued 21 cats, who were transported from the property to Greenhill for medical care.

“It was clear when we arrived on site that the cats had gone without consistent food, water, or veterinary care for a substantial amount of time,” said Aly Larson of Greenhill. Many of the cats arrived with ailments and staff are providing care. Greenhill and LCAS staff are working with a family member of the deceased, and rescue operations are ongoing.
