■ THURSTON fell to North Eugene 48-46 in overtime to snap its 11-game winning streak. Lucas LaBounty led the Colts with 22 points, including nine of his team’s 10 in the fourth quarter. Zack Fisher scored all 10 of the Highlanders fourth-quarter points to send the game to overtime, where Jordan Gray took over and scored seven of his team’s nine in the extra period. The two combined for 35 of their team’s 48 points. The Colts bounced back on Friday, defeating Eagle Point 82-36. LaBounty led with 20 points, eight rebounds and five steals, but Rylan Sharp was a standout as well, with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
■ CRESWELL defeated Sisters 66-59 on Tuesday. Each team took the momentum at times, with the Bulldogs winning the first quarter 20-13, then the Outlaws controlling the second 20-9, followed by the Bulldogs taking the lead for the final time with a 22-12 third quarter. Ace Arnold recorded 27 points on 10-of-13 shooting and had eight rebounds. His two highest-scoring games this season have come against Sisters, with 29 points in this season’s earlier meeting. Despite scoring a season-low 47 points, the Bulldogs secured a comfortable 47-33 victory over Harrisburg. Arnold was again the catalyst, with 19 points, four assists, and three blocks.
■ PLEASANT HILL defeated Harrisburg 65-54 last Tuesday. The Billies had six players with six or more points, but the Melvins led the way. Logan had 15 points, while Landen scored 14. The Billies led 45-20 at half, outscoring the Eagles 24-6 in the second period.
■ COTTAGE GROVE defeated North Bend 66-51 to move to 3-4 in league play. After a 2-11 start, the Lions are 3-3 in their past six. That is despite losing star big man Trevor Cooper for three full games and the second half of the Marist Catholic game, which they were leading when he left.
■ SPRINGFIELD lost to Churchill 62-16. The Millers 16 points were their fewest in a game since at least 2013, according to OSAA records. However, it was a bounceback defensively, after allowing 80+ points in four straight games.
