SPRINGFIELD – On Jan. 26 at about 3:25 p.m., Springfield officers responded to a single-vehicle crash near the intersection of Gateway Street and International Way. Multiple callers reported a vehicle crashed into a tree and was on its side with occupants. Officers, first on scene, found several people assisting the entrapped occupants. One juvenile occupant sustained a major laceration on her arm. The adult male driver and another juvenile were extricated from the vehicle by fire personnel. Preliminary investigation indicates the vehicle left the road for an unknown reason and struck the tree.
