SPRINGFIELD – Salon services have expanded in the strip mall on Mohawk Blvd. and Marcola Rd. in Springfield. Founder Isha Dhalla, along with friends, family, neighbors, and Springfield Chamber ambassadors, welcomed the new Foxy Brows Threading Spa and Beauty Salon last Thursday.
This is not Dhalla’s first rodeo by any means. She has been involved in the beauty industry for more than 16 years, and already has an established business across from The Duck Store at Valley River Center Mall.
“People from Springfield, customers, they always tell me to open here,” Dhalla said. So, she did. Dhalla and her husband, Sunny, set up shop between Papa John’s and the UPS Store, at 1926 Marcola Rd.
Chamber members and ambassadors, Foxy Brows staff, the Dhallas, and their two children, 8-year-old Reyensh and 10-year-old Shabad, participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony around 2 p.m.
Dhalla’s personal appreciation for sparkles is reflected in the design of the shop. Pink walls, flowers, chairs, and even trash cans decorate the space, and gold chandeliers hang from the ceiling.
“It feels like Barbie Land in here,” beautician Melanie Riggins said.
Kerrington Helikson has been working for the Dhallas for about two years, and said she likes that there is always something new to do in the beauty industry.
“I’m very proud and happy to be a part of their team. They’re amazing people, and I’m very excited for this location,” Helikson said.
Chamber president and CEO Vonnie Mikkelsen offered welcoming words at the ceremony.
“We’re super thrilled that you found your way to Springfield, in this particular location … I really think you’re in a great neighborhood and a great market area for your business,” she said.
“We’re here to support you whenever we can and wish you a long, lengthy prosperity and growth while you’re here.”
The salon offers facials, hair threading, henna tattoos, waxing, brow lamination, lash lifting, tinting, eyebrow and lash extensions, facials, and makeup services. Foxy Brows also provides products for sale, including eyebrow powder, gel, rejuvenator, brushes, facial oil, henna cones, and jewelry.
