The City of Springfield offers a free leaf pickup service to residents to prevent flooding and maintain safe streets. Sanipac is responsible for collecting and recycling bagged leaves in two rounds. For areas west of 28th Street, pick up begins the week of Jan. 5. For areas east of 28th Street begins the week of Jan. 12. Dates are weather permitting.
