SPRINGFIELD: The Millers had six boys compete in the Warrior Classic on Friday, Dec. 12. Of these six, the Millers had one placer in Vincent Andrews (138) who got third in his weight class. On the girls side, however, the Millers saw six wrestlers place, and one took home a win. Haley Siders (130) achieved her second win of the season, placing first on Friday. Aleida Martinez Contreras (235) took second for the Millers while Olivia Chavez (110), Gladis Lopez Rivera (115), Harley Ford (125), and Jules Starnes (135) all took fourth.

COTTAGE GROVE: The Lions boys and girls competed at the Coast Classic tournament hosted by North Bend last weekend. They had one placer in Jeffrey Conklin (138) who has now won all three of the tournaments he’s participated in. On the girls side, Boston Kent (135) finished fourth and Alexsis Woody (130) finished fifth.

PLEASANT HILL: The Billies competed in the Culver Invitational last weekend where they saw four boys place alongside all three girls who competed. PREVIEWS

■ THURSTON: The Colts host the LaMont Simons Dual Tournament at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The Colts face Bend, Churchill, Mountain View, and Tillamook. Thurston has been dominant so far this season. Look for junior Michael Salas-Sanchez (113) to grab his third first-place finish of the year.

■ SPRINGFIELD: The Millers will compete in the Coquille Holiday Sendoff on Friday. Haley Siders has been on a tear for the Millers, winning both of the tournaments she’s competed in this year. With a broader field, this match will be important for the Millers to see just how dominant Siders is.

■ COTTAGE GROVE: The Lions boys and girls will compete in the Grants Pass Winter Kickoff this weekend. Jeffrey Conklin looks to head into winter break with a win to continue his 100% win rate this season. For the girls, Boston Kent will be a serious contender to place, just as she has for her last three tournaments.
