COTTAGE GROVE VS. CASCADE
■ Just the facts: The Lions (0-2) will play host to the Cougars (0-1) on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7:15 p.m.
■ Tipping off: These teams faced off last year, with the Cougars beating the Lions 84-63. Cottage Grove has had 23 turnovers in each of its first two games, and will need to limit those if it is to beat Cascade. The Cougars are a powerhouse in Class 4A, having reached at least the semifinals of state playoffs the past four years, and winning two titles. However, this year’s team is young, having graduated seven seniors from last year. Cottage Grove will try to use its veteran experience (six seniors and only two underclassmen) to get the better of the Cougars. Lions junior Trevor Cooper is averaging 22 points a game through his first two.
