State hunting org names new executive director

After a nationwide search, Dr. Todd Adkins was appointed as the new executive director of the Oregon Hunters Association (OHA). Adkins holds a PhD from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from the University of Iowa, with more than 30 years of experience in hunting and conservation.

Previously, he served as senior vice president of the Sportsmen’s Alliance, where he expanded staff and resources to protect hunting nationwide, and as managing director of state and local affairs for the NRA-ILA.

A lifelong hunter and angler, Adkins expressed his commitment to safeguarding hunters and enhancing OHA’s mission of protecting Oregon’s wildlife, habitat, and hunting heritage. OHA is Oregon’s largest pro-hunting organization, comprising 12,000 members and 26 chapters statewide.

His selection was driven by his extensive experience in strategic leadership, fundraising, and conservation advocacy, according to the board of directors.
“I wake up every day thinking about how to protect hunters and our amazing conservation legacy, so I am honored by the Board’s decision to appoint me as OHA’s executive director,” Adkins said.
