EUGENE — Eugene Concert Choir invites passionate, skilled singers to take part in mid-season auditions on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Positions are open in both the 100-member Eugene Concert Choir (ECC) and Eugene Vocal Arts (EVA) – an acclaimed 40-voice chamber ensemble. Appointments are required to audition, and interested singers are encouraged to reach out soon to secure an audition time.
ECC and EVA welcome vocalists who are eager to contribute to a vibrant artistic community and uphold the longstanding tradition of musical excellence that defines ECC. Singers who join the organization rehearse weekly—EVA on Monday evenings and ECC on Tuesday evenings —through the performance season which runs through mid-May. Select members will also tour Puerto Rico next March for several performances.
Prospective singers will complete a brief, focused audition designed to understand each vocalist’s strengths and musicianship. Candidates are asked to prepare a solo that best showcases their voice; classical selections are encouraged, though any well-suited piece is acceptable. An accompanist will be provided, and singers should bring sheet music for their chosen work. If a solo is not prepared, auditioners may perform the “Star-Spangled Banner,”
with lyrics available on site.
