LOWELL – On Nov. 15, Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of menacing involving Marcquis Andrew Lee White, 33, of Lowell, who allegedly brandished a handgun and fled the scene in a vehicle.
Deputies deployed an armored rescue vehicle, drone, and K9 units to search for the suspect. His vehicle was later found crashed nearby, with a firearm inside.
Residents in the area were instructed to remain indoors as a precaution.
While the search was ongoing, a nearby duck hunter accidentally discharged a shotgun, prompting no additional measures from deputies.
White was eventually located and arrested by Washington State Police west of Spokane after a pursuit.
He faces charges in Washington and, if extradited to Oregon, will confront more charges: This incident remains under investigation.
LCSO was also busy responding to multiple DUII calls.
- At about 12:30 a.m. on Nov. 10, Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disorderly subject at a gas station in Creswell. Andrew Randall Lukkasson-Huss, 31, of Vancouver, Wash., was preventing drivers from exiting a nearby restaurant’s drive-through. After a struggle, Lukkasson was arrested for DUII, disorderly conduct in the second degree, criminal trespass in the second degree, and resisting arrest.
- On Nov. 11 at 8:30 p.m., a deputy observed a vehicle unable to maintain its lane on Highway 126 and Huston Road in Veneta. Joshua Wayne Mustin, 30, of Veneta, was arrested for DUII and recklessly endangering another person.
- On Nov. 12 at 2 a.m., deputies responded to a possible burglary on Row River Road. They found Anthony Michael Cobiskey, 27, of Cottage Grove, in a vehicle nearby. Signs of intoxication led to his arrest for DUII.
- On Nov. 14 at 4 p.m., deputies responded to a four-vehicle crash in the 2000 block of River Road. Thomas William Carson, 66, of Eugene, struck three other vehicles in an oncoming lane after veering across the roadway. Carson was arrested for DUII, reckless driving, and recklessly endangering another person.
- At 11 p.m. on the same day, deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Siuslaw River Road, Milepost 43. Jesse James Irvin, 23, of Drain, showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for DUII.
