8th Street intersection reopens in the Grove

COTTAGE GROVE – The 8th Street intersection is now open as part of the EDA Main Street Revitalization Project, marking the second concrete intersection completed.

Traffic will continue to be routed on the south side of Main Street throughout the project, which extends from Highway 99 to the Main Street Bridge.

North side progress:

  • Concrete work on the 5th Street bulb-outs and intersection is complete and in the curing phase.
  • The bulb-out curb and gutter on 7th Street have been poured.
  • Sparkle concrete, bollards, and broom finish concrete are scheduled for pouring and completion.
  • Wildish crew will not work on Thursday (Nov. 27) or Friday (Nov. 28).
  • The first pour for the 7th Street intersection is scheduled for Monday (Dec. 1), with the second pour on Tuesday (Dec. 2).
  • Asphalt is set to be laid on 5th and 7th Streets once the concrete has cured, approximately on Dec. 9.
  • Lantz Electric is continuing to attach electricity to all light poles.
  • Anderson Landscape is working on irrigation and plantings.
  • City staff will coordinate with Wildish on placing benches, trash cans, and landscape pots on Wednesday (Nov. 26).
  • Officials remind the public to remain in approved areas and to avoid caution-taped zones for safety.
