Grove Museum hosts holiday event featuring stained glass

COTTAGE GROVE – The Cottage Grove Museum is set to welcome the community to its 12th annual Stained Glass and Candlelight Holiday Event on Saturday, Dec. 6. The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the museum, located at the corner of Birch Ave. and H St. in the historic Northwest Neighborhood.

This festive tradition invites attendees to appreciate the museum’s beautiful stained-glass windows in a unique atmosphere. As the museum’s lights are dimmed, the stained glass will be lit from the outside, creating a stunning visual display. A museum tour guide will lead a presentation, offering insights into the beauty and symbolism of each window.

As a special addition to this year’s event, both of the museum’s buildings will be open before the tour. Guests will have the opportunity to explore various exhibits, including the mesmerizing “Lucky Coat” belonging to Titanic survivor and former Cottage Grove resident Marion Wright Woolcott.

The museum’s stained glass windows will remain illuminated every evening from dusk until 10 p.m. throughout the holiday season, inviting everyone to include the museum in their holiday lights tour.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the window tour beginning at 6:15 p.m.. Light refreshments will be served, making for a delightful evening for attendees of all ages.
