SPRINGFIELD – The Drifters named Jake Willard their new general manager Monday. Willard – who has spent the past six years with TrackTownUSA and the Prefontaine Classic – takes over for Barry Bokn, who retired this fall.
Team officials said Willard brings a community-focused approach for the Drifters, saying he will help build upon current fan engagement initiatives. As a self-proclaimed lifelong baseball fan, Willard said he hopes to share the love of the sport with Springfield in 2026 and beyond.
“From the beginning, (the owners) have emphasized the organization’s mission of giving back to the community,” Willard said, referring to co-owners Ike Olsson and Kelly Richardson.
“The Drifters have done a phenomenal job of this and have seen growth in attendance each year. I’m excited to help them continue that mission and growth in 2026 and beyond,” he said.
The Drifters’ 2026 season begins May 29.
