In girls soccer last week, the Class 4A Cottage Grove went 0-2 in the Sky-Em league last week, with an 8-0 loss to Marist and a 1-0 loss to Marshfield. The Lions are in the second-to-last place spot in league standings.
In Class 3A, Creswell went 1-0-1 last week in conference play, starting with a 5-0 win vs. Siuslaw on Tuesday. Junior Mila Nguyen opened the game by scoring off an assist from senior Jordyn Marklyn. Then, senior Elliette Kinney scored two goals off assists from junior Kendall Durflinger and Kinslee Roberts. Nguyen sealed the first half with another goal with an assist from Kinslee. In the second half, Jordyn Lee scored an unassisted goal from 25 yards out. Senior GK Kylie Leonard recorded 5 saves. The Bulldogs then tied with Pleasant Hill on Thursday.
Pleasant Hill went 1-0-1 last week in the MVC. The Billies hosted Santiam Christian on Tuesday and won 4-0. The goals were scored by senior captain Trinity Smead, sophomore Kaylee Johnson, and freshmen Kristen Gardner, and Dani Boyd. Assists were from freshmen Gabby Contreras Jeronimo and Emerson Hill. Senior captain Kenna Caldwell-Copeland recorded 8 saves to preserve the shutout. Against the Bulldogs on Thursday, the Billies kept the Bulldogs off the scoreboard with a “lot of tenacity and energy, especially from the bench and many freshmen who helped fill in the gaps,” Chris Hammond said – citing Hill, Contreras Jeronimo, Boyd, Lyla Wilson, Kora Flanders, and Zoe Harr. The Billies have allowed only 4 goals all season.
In Class 5A, Springfield went 1-1 in the league play last week against North Eugene and Eagle Point. They recorded their third win of the season against the Eagles 2-0 on Saturday. It was also Senior Night, in which the Millers said goodbye to Orquidia Lopez, Lucy Rogers, and Kenya Bautista.
Lastly, Thurston was 2-0 last week in the league. It started with a 2-0 win against Churchill on Tuesday. Delaney Antone scored one goal assisted by Taylor Suiter; Emmie Gerdrum scored one goal assisted by Antone. On Saturday, the Colts defeated Crater 2-0, with Antone scoring one goal assisted by Gerdrum, and Cami Jones scoring one goal, also assisted by Gerdrum. It was Senior Night for the Colts, who honored Taylor Tiller, Isabella Hanson, and Lily Fuller.

#11 PLEASANT HILL (7-2-3)
Kicking off: The Billies close out the MVC against Sisters and La Pine. A top-11 ranking clinches a postseason berth.
#25 SPRINGFIELD (3-8)
Kicking off: The Millers have struggled in the Midwestern League, with only three victories overall.
#7 THURSTON (7-3-1)
Kicking off: The Colts play Springfield as they begin to fight for the final spot in league play. They will look to lock in their No. 2 spot in the Midwestern League.
