Free household hazardous waste roundup this weekend

MARCOLA – A free Household Hazardous Waste Roundup will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, at Mohawk Valley Fire Station, 92068 Marcola Road. Participants can bring up to 35 gallons of household hazardous waste. Businesses, schools, and nonprofits must pre-register and may incur disposal fees.

What to bring: Up to 35 gallons of paint, cleaners, lawn chemicals, car care products, arts and crafts materials, pool chemicals, and fluorescent lamps. Look for labels indicating flammable, corrosive, poison, caution, or danger.
Please don’t bring: Empty containers, drums, radioactive or infectious waste, asbestos, pressurized cylinders, or explosives. Empty containers can be discarded in the trash. For disposal of radioactive waste or asbestos, call 541-682-3828 or 541-682-3899.
