SPRINGFIELD – On Oct. 3, Springfield Public Schools celebrated Special Education Teacher Sally Golden (right center in orange cardigan) as the 2025 Oregon Teacher of the Year. Golden, who was also named Lane County’s Regional Teacher of the Year and one of four finalists statewide, has over 20 years of teaching experience. Since joining the Community Transition Program (CTP) in 2010, she has supported more than 400 special education students (ages 18-21) in achieving their educational and employment goals. CTP has partnered with local businesses and agencies to help students find jobs, including Goodwill and Starbucks. Golden received a $10,000 cash prize and an additional $5,000 for CTP, and she will represent Oregon teachers at various events throughout the year.
