PHHS launches enhanced CTE program
PLEASANT HILL – Last month, Pleasant Hill High School announced the continuation of its robust Career and Technical Education (CTE) program for the upcoming school year. Supported by four dedicated CTE teachers and an educational assistant, the program offers students access to well-equipped labs and classrooms, funded by community grants, Lane ESD, Perkins and Pathways funding, and contributions from PHHS FFA Alumni. With over 30 CTE courses, students can explore various trade pathways, certifications, and college-aligned credit opportunities, engaging in hands-on experiences in fields like agriculture and health sciences. The program helps establish industry connections and provides internship experiences. This year, the Health Science pathway will expand, with the PHHS Medical Club offering students leadership opportunities and healthcare-focused activities. Middle school students will also participate in a Health Occupations Survey Class, incorporating STEM challenges and introducing new courses, such as Nutrition and Child Development.
Feeding children this school year
PLEASANT HILL – Pleasant Hill School District last week announced that it will continue to participate in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the National School Lunch Program for the 2025-2026 school year. This initiative enables all enrolled students to receive one breakfast and one lunch at no cost, regardless of their family income level. As part of this program, families will no longer need to complete the free and reduced-price meal application, simplifying the process for everyone. This change aims to ensure that all students have access to nutritious meals during the school day, promoting better health and academic performance.
