PeaceHealth, Everyone Village, and Volunteers in Medicine will celebrate the grand opening of a 10-bed recuperation wing and a fully equipped two-room primary care clinic at Everyone Village, a transitional community in West Eugene. The event, scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., will feature remarks from partners, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and tours of the new facilities.
“Being able to support people in their health care journey outside the walls of the hospital is essential to maintaining wellness,” said Susan Blane, community health director for PeaceHealth Oregon. “This onsite clinic makes care so accessible that it truly changes what’s possible for recovery.”
The clinic is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between a healthcare provider, a housing community, a volunteer-driven clinic, and a local public school district.
Simultaneously, the campus is opening a new onsite primary care clinic built by students in Eugene School District 4J’s Future Build program. Construction of both the clinic and recuperation units was completed by local high school students.
