SPRINGFIELD – The City of Springfield is once again seeking national recognition as a Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) through the League of American Bicyclists. This designation evaluates and celebrates communities that are building safer streets and better biking networks to make bicycling a real transportation and recreation option for all. Springfield earned a Bronze designation in 2018 and is now reapplying, intending to upgrade its status to a Silver designation.
