COTTAGE GROVE – St. Vincent dePaul is looking for homeowners in Cottage Grove who are in need of home-repair loans.
The Regional Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program (RHRP) is a home-loan program that provides financial assistance for health-and-safety repairs.
The program aims to improve existing low-income housing, help residents remain in their homes, increase housing opportunities, and correct structural deficiencies, its leaders explained.
It aligns with SVdP’s core values of resourcefulness, innovation, service, and empowerment, officials said.
Specific criteria must be met to receive assistance through RHRP. Individuals must occupy and own the home and land. The property must be within the target area served by the grant, have a clear title, and the homeowner’s income should be at or below 80% of the federal median income.
For a one-person household, the maximum income eligible for the loan program is $51,350. For a two-person household, the maximum income eligible is $58,700, and for a three-person household, it is $66,050.
Examples of project possibilities include roofing, foundations, insulation, siding, structural repairs, accessibility accommodations, dry rot, plumbing, and more. According to Joel Gorthy, communications director for SVdP, a recent home renovation in Lane County received new siding, roofing, gutters, and other needed repairs thanks to an RHRP loan.
For SVdP to secure state grant funding for the loan program in CG, sufficient demand needs to be demonstrated. Residents who are interested and meet the qualifications are encouraged to fill out an online assessment. Fill out the form: tinyurl.com/y8r6kbm6
