QB diary: Day 4

DAY 4: SATURDAY, JUNE 28
When you get up at 7 a.m. and walk outside to a blanket of wet heat you know you’re in for a tough day.

Ryker was able to get in two sessions around a lightning storm on Saturday.

Morning practice went great again! I was hitting all my receivers in stride and nailing all my drill work. ASU’s Sam Leavitt was my coach again and he’s really taken me under his wing and showed me a lot. I also saw LSU’s Garrett Nussmeier and he remembered me from last year’s camp.

By the end of first practice it was a scorching 93 degrees out but by the start of second practice there was a huge lightning storm that delayed practice and we had to wait under the stadium. They definitely don’t have lightning like this in Oregon! We waited an hour until practice was ultimately cancelled. Bummed me out cause it was the last time I’d be able to be coached by Sam Leavitt.

We returned for the final night session which was a 7-on-7 tournaments again. In my three drives I threw three touchdowns and we went undefeated to win the whole thing! I was voted the MVP QB by my teammates and coach, Kansas QB Jaydon Daniels! Jaydon even followed me on IG! What developed as a bummer day ended as an amazing night.
